Position Overview:

A skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Technologist is expected to perform a wide range of diagnostic tests in our modern clinical laboratory. The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of test results while adhering to all regulatory and safety standards.


Required Education, Skills and Experience: 

Education and Skills:

· Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology or a related field. Advanced degree is preferred.

· Minimum 5 years of experience in a laboratory setting (experience with LC/MS or ELISA is a plus).

· Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, quality control, and safety protocols.

· Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Other Preferred Qualifications:

· Certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) by a recognized certifying body.

· Proficiency with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and familiarity with data management best practices.

 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

· Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing using advanced instrumentation and methodologies.

· Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and quality control.

· Prepare, process, and analyze patient samples, including blood, urine, and oral fluids.

· Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, and other regulatory requirements.

· Troubleshoot technical issues, including instrument malfunctions and test discrepancies.

· Review and verify test results for accuracy and release them into the laboratory information system (LIS).

· Collaborate with laboratory staff to maintain a high standard of quality and workflow efficiency.

· Assist in the development, validation, and implementation of new laboratory tests and procedures.

· Maintain accurate records of test procedures, results, and quality control data.

· Participate in proficiency testing, competency assessments, and continuing education activities.

 

Work Environment:

OSHA RISK FACTOR CATEGORY 1. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and work with a computer. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and/or carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The employee is required to perform repetitive motions, including reaching above the head, and typing. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Color-blindness testing is required for those with job-specific duties requiring color discrimination.
